Hotfix 1.1a (Demo 2) has released!

Heya! Here’s a quick bugfix / QoL update for Demo 2, the latest demo for the f̷u̷l̴l̴ ̷g̷a̸m̸e̸ of Foxo’s Fun Schoolhouse!

The changes present in 1.1a are based off of the criticism you left in the forums. Thank you for your feedback, we’re trying our best to p̶e̵r̴f̶e̷c̷t̶ this game as much as we can!

Minor changes

  • The 480x360 resolution has been removed in both Math Madness and Spelling Run. Beside the fact that it made specifically Spelling Run harder than it needed to be, it also caused some very strange visual glitches on certain devices.
  • The keybind for clicking something with your mouse has been changed to ‘Z’, whereas it previously was the enter key.
    • The main reason behind this is because it caused confusion in Math Madness: people would hover their mouse over the number buttons, press enter, and think that there’s a bug.
  • Added numpad support to Math Madness. (You need numlock on to use it properly)
  • The controller bindings have been changed to hopefully match that in Baldi’s Basics Plus / Classic Remastered
  • Controls now save when closing the game
  • Lowered the brightness of the pulsing in the final round of Math Madness
  • Removed Foxo O’s in the item section of the Tutorial
  • Changed the sensitivity values in the options menu a bit. This was done because of visual bugs

Bugfixes

  • The warning music now loops properly
  • The music in Spelling Run now properly loops and doesn’t break Foxo’s slapping
  • Fixed Tutorial triggers not always working. This was a framerate related issue, but now I’m kind of ‘brute-forcing’ the triggers to actually work. I have no way of testing this, so please let me know if they’re still broken or not.

Overall, releasing this demo felt both nice and stressful at the same time. It’s given me the opportunity to fix bugs I might’ve not caught if I hadn’t released them. I can pretty confidently say that demo 2 is the final demo. I’m incredibly excited to show all of you what we’ve been working on for the past year or so, but that comes with the lingering fear that the final build on release day is going to be broken. Considering the fact that it’s been a tradition? I wouldn’t be surprised if a 2.0a comes out shortly after release. Let’s just hope the dreaded ‘emergency update’ isn’t necessary.

Thanks for playing.
